Building

Just type make and then run the program...

tar -zxf powertop-1.8.tar.gz
cd powertop-1.8
make
make install
powertop

Distro packages

Currently, PowerTOP is being added by various contributors to the development versions of Debian, Gentoo and Fedora. You can use the online package install tool of your distro (apt-get/emerge/yum/etc) to install PowerTOP on those distributions.

Subversion access

You can get the latest development version of PowerTOP from the subversion repository that is hosted at code.google.com with the following command:

svn checkout http://powertop.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/ powertop
